These paired roundels show a bathing Bathsheba (top); the commentary and lower illustration compare her act to that of the church, depicted as a queen, cleansing herself of sinners—the three Jews (one of them holding a moneybag) at right, whom the church rejects with a dismissive downward wave of the hand.
