HERODIAN DYNASTY. Coins minted by and honoring the Judean king Herod the Great and his descendants are abundant. This coin is the largest struck by Herod. It displays an inscription in Greek that reads “Of King Herod” surrounding an image of a tripod with a ceremonial bowl above it.
