MAPPING JESUS’S BETHLEHEM. This westward-looking overview of modern Bethlehem captures the city’s most famous landmark, the Church of the Nativity, and the surrounding area. Just west of the church is Manger Square (C). Also indicated are the Al-Ain fountain house (D), where the Lower Aqueduct passed underground to flow beneath the city’s low ridge, and the location of another portion of the aqueduct (E), now housed in a souvenir shop, which is likely close to where the channel exited on the north side of the city.
