TEMPLE TOOLS. An assortment of ritual artifacts was found scattered throughout the temple’s main sanctuary, including kernoi (above) and cup-and-saucer vessels, suggesting that liquid and smoke offerings were made inside the temple while burnt animal offerings were reserved for outdoor altars. Libations could be poured from a kernos or other vessel, while the cup-and-saucer form may have served as a type of incense burner.
