ELEVATED OFFERINGS. A cylindrical stand from the final phase of the Tell Qasile temple (second half of the 11th century) would have once held an offering bowl. A particularly evocative example of an offering bowl used with such stands has the shape of a water bird (with head, wings, and tail), reminiscent of sacred birds depicted on painted Philistine pottery.
