JERUSALEM’S TAP. The Gihon Spring is accessed through a small cave at the base of Jerusalem’s eastern hill. The rhythmic waters bubbled up and filled the cave. Those who lived in ancient Jerusalem guarded these waters and, at times, redirected them to pools. Notably, they built the massive Spring Tower—perhaps the biblical Millo—to protect the spring.
