The “two lands” are Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt, or Northern and Southern Egypt respectively (from the “upper” Nile and the “lower” Nile).

Ka means something like “life force” or “essential vitality.” The active presence of Ka distinguishes a living person from a dead person.

The nebty name places the king under the guidance of both the vulture goddess Nekhbet, protector of Upper Egypt, and the cobra goddess Wadjyt, protector of Lower Egypt.
