Amanda Kolson Hurley
Amanda Kolson Hurley, once a member of the BAS staff, she is now a writer and editor who specializes in architecture and urbanism. From 2006 to 2011, she was the Senior and then Executive Editor of Architect, the monthly magazine of the American Institute of Architects. Before that, she was an Associate Editor at Preservation, the magazine of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. She has a Ph.D. in literature from the University of Bristol in England and an M.A. from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. She has been freelance since 2011 and now lives in Silver Spring, MD.
