Angelos Chaniotis

Angelos Chaniotis is a Professor of Ancient History in the School of Historical Studies at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, NJ. With a broad range of interests in the ancient Mediterranean world, he has devoted considerable research to the social, cultural and religious history of the Roman East. He has written more than 200 articles on classical history, as well as many books, including War in the Hellenistic World: A Social and Cultural History (Blackwell, 2005).
