David J.A. Clines

David J.A. Clines is an Emeritus Professor of Biblical Studies at the University of Sheffield, England. He has published numerous articles and books on the Hebrew Bible and critical theory, among them a three volume commentary on Job and the eight-volume Dictionary of Classical Hebrew, (Sheffield Academic Press). He has served as President of the Society for Old Testament Study and the Society of Biblical Literature. He founded the Journal for the Study of the Old Testament, then Sheffield Academic Press and finally Sheffield Phoenix Press.
