Dennis E. Smith

Dennis E. Smith was the LaDonna Kramer Meinders Professor of New Testament at Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He authored From Symposium to Eucharist: The Banquet in the Early Christian World (Fortress Press, 2003) and co-edited, with Hal Taussig, Meals in the Early Christian World: Social Formation, Experimentation, and Conflict at the Table (Palgrave MacMillan, 2012). Professor Smith passed away on September 16, 2017, in Galveston, Texas, from complications of cancer. He was 77 years old.
