Floyd S. Fierman

Floyd S. Fierman, a rabbi from El Paso, explored the migration of Jewish pioneers in the American Southwest and wrote about them in two books, Guts and Ruts and Boots and Roots. Ordained at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Fierman served as rabbi of Temple Mt. Sinai in El Paso from 1949 until his retirement in 1981.  He died in 1989.
