James P. Allen

James P. Allen is the Wilbour Professor of Egyptology at Brown University and was Curator of Egyptian Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York from 1990-2006. He is the author of Middle Egyptian: An Introduction to the Language and Culture of Ancient Egypt (Cambridge Univ. Press, 2000; rev. 2002) and Genesis in Egypt: The Philosophy of Ancient Egyptian Creation Accounts (Yale Egyptological Seminar, 1989).
