Jonathan P. Siegel
Jonathan P. Siegel (d. 2007) was interested in ancient Hebrew writing since he wandered into the Brooklyn Museum at age eleven and saw an Elephantine papyrus. He was a veteran teacher of Hebrew, Biblical archaeology and Jewish history, Siegel received his Ph.D. in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University, and studied in Jerusalem, where he was a Fulbright Fellow. Dr. Siegel’s articles on ancient Hebrew texts and scripts have appeared in the Hebrew Union College Annual, Israel Exploration Journal, Masoretic Studies and Revue de Qumran.
