Karel van der Toorn

Karel van der Toorn is a Faculty Professor of Religion and the former President of the University of Amsterdam. He is author of Scibal Culture and the Making of the Hebrew Bible (Harvard University Press, 2007), which won the London-based Society of Biblical Archaeology prize for best publication of the year in the field of ancient Israel.
