Martin Goodman

Martin Goodman is a Professor of Jewish Studies in the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford. He has written extensively on the political, social and religious history of the Jews of the Roman Empire. His most recent book, Rome and Jerusalem: The Clash of Ancient Civilizations (Knopf, 2007), explores the causes and consequences of the Roman destruction of Jerusalem in 70 C.E.
