Robert S. Merrillees

Robert S. Merrillees was the Director of the Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institute (CAARI) in Nicosia from 1999 to 2003 and Australia’s ambassador to Greece and Bulgaria from 1996 to 1998. He is the author of numerous publications on the archaeology of the Bronze Age Levant, particularly Cyprus and Egypt. His latest book, On Opium, Pots, People and Places (Paul Astrom, 2003), is a celebratory volume of 30 articles spanning his 40-year academic career.
