The Yigael Yadin Professor of Archaeology at Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Amnon Ben-Tor (“Excavating Hazor”) has been excavating at Hazor since 1990. He is the author of The Archaeology of Ancient Israel (1992).
Coauthor Maria Teresa Rubiato (“Excavating Hazor”), the head of the Complutense University team excavating at Hazor, is a professor of Biblical archaeology at Complutense, in Madrid.
P. Kyle McCarter, Jr. (“Three New Arrowheads”), is the William F. Albright Professor of Biblical and Ancient Near Eastern Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. A member of BAR’s editorial advisory board, he wrote the commentaries on 1-2 Samuel in the Anchor Bible series and Ancient Inscriptions: Voices from the Biblical World (Biblical Archaeology Society, 1996).
Until his retirement last year, Moshe Kochavi (“Divided Structures”) was a professor in the Department of Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Studies at Tel Aviv University. He has served as head of the Institute of Archaeology at Tel Aviv University; as a research and teaching fellow at Harvard and Oxford; and, since 1993, as chair of the Israel Archaeological Council.
