Susan L. Greiner (“Did Eve Fall or Was She Pushed?”) graduated from Duke Divinity School this year. Her major area of research is the pseudepigrapha and Adam and Eve narratives. “Did Eve Fall?” was originally presented, in modified form, at the Southeastern Regional Conference of the Society of Biblical Literature in March 1997.

A professor of linguistics at Hunter College in New York City, Harvey Minkoff (“Searching for the Better Text”) is the author and editor of nine books, including Visions and Revisions (Prentice-Hall, 1990) and Approaches to the Bible: The Best of Bible Review, vols. 1 and 2 (Biblical Archaeology Society, 1995).

Robert L. Stieglitz (“The Lowdown on the Riffraff”) is associate professor of ancient Mediterranean civilizations at Rutgers University in New Jersey. The author of more than 100 articles on the ancient Near East and the Mediterranean, he has taught in Greece, Israel and the United States.

Jerome Murphy-O’Connor (“Triumph Over Temptation”), a professor of New Testament and intertestamental literature, has taught for 30 years at the Ecole Biblique, in Jerusalem. The author of numerous articles for BR, Murphy-O’Connor won our biannual best article award for his February 1996 contribution, “Why Jesus Went Back to Galilee.”
