Mark R. Fairchild (“Turkey’s Unexcavated Synagogues”) is professor and chair of the Bible and Religion Department at Huntington University in Huntington, Indiana, as well as program director for the Ephesus Meeting, an academic conference at the ancient site of Ephesus in Turkey.
Yigal Levin (“Did Pharaoh Sheshonq Attack Jerusalem?”) is senior lecturer in the Department of Jewish History at Bar-Ilan University. He also teaches at Jerusalem University College. His main fields of interest are the history, archaeology and geography of Biblical Israel, and he has been a staff member on several excavations. He most recently coedited, with Amnon Shapira, War and Peace in Jewish Tradition from the Bible to the Present (Routledge, 2011).
Mitchell First (“Can Archaeology Help Date the Psalms?”) is an attorney in Manhattan. He has an M.A. in Jewish History from Yeshiva University and is the author of Jewish History in Conflict (Northvale, NJ: J. Aronson, 1997) as well as numerous articles.
