Col. Rose Mary Sheldon (“Spy Tales”) is a professor of history at Virginia Military Institute. Her dissertation on Roman espionage, Tinker, Tailor, Caesar, Spy, received the National Intelligence Book Award in 1988.
A former research psychologist at the University of Michigan, Lisbeth S. Fried (“Cyrus the Messiah”) switched careers in 1989 and is now a visiting scholar in the university’s Department of Near Eastern Studies. Her book The Priest and the Great King: Temple-Palace Relations in the Persian Empire is forthcoming from Eisenbrauns.
William H.C. Propp (“Second Isaiah”) is professor of Judaic studies and ancient history and languages at the University of California, San Diego. He is the author of Exodus 1–18 (Doubleday, 1999) in the Anchor Bible series.
