Jeffrey C. Geoghegan (“The Exodus of Abraham”) is assistant professor of theology at Boston College. A specialist in the history and religion of ancient Israel, he has written several books, including The Bible for Dummies, with Michael Homan, and the forthcoming Over and Under Biblical Lands: Eerdmans’ Bible Atlas.
An expert in Dutch and Flemish painting, Arthur K. Wheelock, Jr. (“Saints as Men”), is curator of Northern Baroque painting at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. He also teaches art history at the University of Maryland. He writes his article for BR with Peter C. Sutton, director of the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Conn., and Anne T. Woollett, assistant curator of paintings at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
Birger A. Pearson (“Did Jesus Marry?”) is professor emeritus of religious studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is one of the world’s leading experts on the Coptic gospels and has written hundreds of articles and books on Gnosticism and the Nag Hammadi codices. Since 1968, he has been involved in Claremont University’s Coptic Gnostic Library project.
