An authority on classical influences on the Italian Renaissance, she is the author of numerous articles and books, including “Etruscan Inscriptions from a 1637 Autograph of Fabio Chigi,” in the American Journal of Archaeology (1989) and A History of Etruscan Studies, 1450–1750 (forthcoming, Cambridge Univ. Whitehead (“Grape Pips, Dog Bones and Acorn Missiles: Who Destroyed the Etruscan Site of La Piana?”) has directed the excavations at La Piana, Italy, since 1982. Thomas McCollough and Beth Glazier-McDonald (“Welcome to the World of Magic!”) are both members of the Religion Department at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, and they have collaborated on a number of articles. A former coach of the Centre College cross country team and an avid competitor in triathlons, McCollough has excavated at Sepphoris since 1985. Glazier-McDonald brings her extensive knowledge of the Bible, Hebrew, and Aramaic to the partnership.
