Cemal Pulak, “Shipwreck! Recovering 3,000-Year-Old Cargo,” began his career with the Institute of Nautical Archaeology (INA) as a volunteer while studying engineering at the Bosporus University in Istanbul, Turkey. He has directed the INA’s annual shipwreck surveys on the Turkish coast since 1983 and co-directed (with George Bass) the Uluburun underwater excavations from 1984 to 1996.
