Devoted to making ancient plants palatable to modern tastes, Devorah Emmet Wigoder (“A Biblical Spice Rack”) is the author of The Garden of Eden Cookbook: Recipes in the Biblical Tradition (Harper & Row, 1988). Although she is currently researching biblical plants in medieval and Renaissance art, she still finds time to lecture, garden and prepare lily-blossom omelets.
Ginger Young (“That Ol’ Time Religion”) runs a folk art gallery from her home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She also directs the Bridges Project at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University.
Award-winning fiction writer, David Vintinner (“That Ol’ Time Religion”) became interested in the use of text in art while working as a gallery manager at the Center for Documentary Studies. A preacher’s son with degrees in religion and mathematics, Vintinner currrently teaches high-school science classes.
