Fellner Foundation Increases Prize Money for BAS Publication Awards

Frederick L. Simmons, trustee of the Leopold and Clara M. Fellner Charitable Foundation, has announced an increase in the honorarium for the coveted Biblical Archaeology Society Publication Awards to $1000. The biennial BAS Publication Awards are given to one book in each of four categories: Best Popular Book on Archaeology, Best Scholarly Book on Archaeology, Best Book Relating to the Old Testament and Best Book Relating to the New Testament.
The BAS Publication Awards were established by Mr. Simmons in 1985 in honor of Leopold and Clara M. Fellner, whose funds support the awards.
The Fellner Foundation also supports the Best of BAR Awards, which are given for the best articles in Biblical Archaeology Review.
