Endnote 1 – Priam’s Treasure in Boston?
Most of the letters from Brown and Boker appear in my Finding the Walls of Troy: Frank Calvert and Heinrich Schliemann at Hisarlik (Berkeley, CA: Univ. of California, 1999). The originals received by Schliemann and press copies of his outgoing correspondence are in the Schliemann Archive of the Gennadius Library of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. Schliemann’s original inquiries and responses to Brown and Boker are housed at the National Archive Research Administration II, College Park, Maryland. Karl Arndt published the Schliemann-Field correspondence in Washington, D.C., and in the Boston Public Library. Brown’s letter was published by David Traill. See Finding the Walls of Troy for full citations.
