Justin Martyr, Apologiae 1.15.2, quotes it together with Matthew 5:28 and 19:12 (eunuchs for the kingdom of God). The Sentences of Sextus 13 cite the advice “to cut off any member of the body which persuades you not to be chaste” (Ed. Henry Chadwick, Texts S 5, Cambridge University, 1959).
