One simple example: “O faithless and perverse generation” (Matthew 17:17) is inspired by Deuteronomy 32:5, but the translator did not notice this, in spite of the fact that later in the same verse he added a biblical reminiscence of his own (Hebrew Matthew 7:6 is inspired by Psalm 80:14; 8:33 by Ruth 1:19; 9:24 by Genesis 19:14; 9:30 by Genesis 3:7; 17:17 by Deuteronomy 1:12).
