Footnote 1 – Jewish Monotheism and Christian Theology

Some ancient interpreters read this text so that the “Ancient One” and “the one like a son of man” are one and the same. This reading is found in some manuscripts of the Greek Bible, but it is incompatible with the Masoretic text.
