Footnote 3 – How the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Old Testament Differ
Zechariah is really two books, not one. The first (chapters 1–8) was written shortly after the return from Exile. The second (chaps. 9–14), sometimes called Deutero-Zechariah, differs considerably in style. It was written much later, during the Hellenistic period, but scholars do not agree on the date.
