The Amarna letters are a set of documents sent to or from Pharaoh Amenhotep III or Amenhotep IV. They are so called because the bulk of them were discovered at Amenhotep IV’s capital, Tell el-Amarna in Egypt. For the most part, this archive consists of correspondence from Egyptian vassals in Asia.
