This reconstruction drawing shows the mortuary temple, at Deir el-Bahri, of the 11th Dynasty pharaoh Mentuhotep II. Some 500 years later, Queen Hatshepsut (c. 1473–1458 B.C.) built her own mortuary temple at Deir el-Bahri, just north of the Mentuhotep complex.
