Hathor: Hathor is a two-edged sword. Wrathful, she is an instrument used by the sun god to destroy humanity. Benevolent, she is the spiritual mother of the pharaoh, often depicted in the form of a cow suckling the king. The cow’s ears of this 13th-century B.C. carving, from the Hathor Temple at Kalabsha, just north of Lake Nasser, suggest that this is Hathor the Good.
