The Uluburun ship was carrying ten tons of copper, mostly in the form of ox-hide ingots (shown here, compare with photo of stone anchor). Since the ship was also carrying a ton of tin, it had provision for 11 tons of bronze—a fitting cargo for a Late Bronze Age ship. Analysis of the copper suggests that it came from Cyprus, though the origin of the tin is not yet known.
