Despite its utilitarian character, much of the pottery from Sha‘ar Hagolan is painted and incised with an elaborate pattern of horizontal lines, zigzag lines and a herringbone decoration (as in the sherds shown here, compare with photos of storage jar, obsidian and flint arrowheads).
