The northwest facade of the ziggurat is depicted in this drawing by Joseph Meyer, a young British architect who joined the dig in 1894 (compare with photos of ziggurat). Only a few month months after arriving in Nippur, Meyer contracted a violent illness—probably dysentery—and died.
