The Minbar (Pulpit) of Burhan ad-Din, at the southern edge of the smaller platform on which the Dome of the Rock rests, was built by the Mamluks in the 14th century. The tabernacle on top of the pulpit was removed from some unknown Crusader structure. The Minbar Burhan ad-Din is also know as the Summer Pulpit; during the summertime Muslim festivals, it serves as a preacher’s pulpit.
