Did Celsus live here? Some have argued that this Roman dwelling, with its spacious interiors and colorful frescoes, was the residence of the governor of the province of Asia. Not far from this house, on a slope across from the Celsus Library, the Austrian team uncovered other houses with private libraries and wall paintings depicting the Greek philosophers and the Muses.
