(While the Egyptians use rectangular shields and shoot arrows from bows, the Philistines carry round shields and hurl spears.) The Medinet Habu inscription states that Ramesses repulsed the Sea Peoples and, according to some scholars’ readings of the text, forced them to re-settle in Canaan.
