The Assyrian king Assurbanipal (668–627 B.C.) and his queen dine in a garden while listening to music in this 22-inch high relief from Nineveh. Hanging from a tree at the far left is the decapitated head of the Elamite king Teumman, whom the Assyrians had defeated in battle.
