Neat, rectangular rows of houses mark the site of Beidha, a 9,000-year-old Neolithic village within walking distance of Little Petra. Beidha was settled for 500 years; its inhabitants hunted ibex, wild goat and gazelles, and they cultivated wheat and barley.
