Many houses had molded bulls’ horns and skulls affixed to their interior walls, as well as painted murals depicting humans and animals. The 6.5-foot-wide leopards shown in the photo—one of several such pairs found at Catalhoyuk—were plastered and painted at least seven times by the ancient occupants of a house.
