The rubble-strewn Hall of a Hundred Columns (also called the Throne Hall) is visible in the foreground of this Oriental Institute photo taken in the 1930s. Beyond the hall are the well-preserved eastern stairway of the Apadana and the remains of the Apadana itself, with its standing columns. South (to the left in the photo) of the Apadana is the Palace of Darius.
