The back of the seal. “[Belonging to Ze]charyau, priest of Dor”: [L-Z]-Ch-R-Y-V(O) C-H-N D-’-R. Beneath the letters is an Egyptian uraeus with two wings. The Egyptian uraeus is frequently found on Hebrew seals of this period. It may have come to Israel via Phoenicia which much influenced Israelite art.
