The Swimming Pool, after restoration. The “bridge” dividing the two sections of the pool, the steps, and the side walls were reinforced and restored. This is very likely the same pool in which in 36 B.C. the high priest, Aristobulus III, was drowned at Herod’s order. (See “The Winter Palaces of Jericho,” BAR 03:02.)
