Floor plan of tomb: Within the three to four feet high entryway (1) are steps (2) leading down to a two to three feet deep pit (3) in which a person could stand upright in the tomb. This pit created burial benches (4) which are on the same level as the chamber floor at the tomb entrance. Above these benches are six-feet long burial recesses, or kochim (singular koch) (5) carved into three walls of this man-made tomb.
