The horned animal head was uncovered in a pit at Tel Qashish with other cultic vessels. This fragment forms part of a hollow clay ring known as a kernos. Liquid was poured through a funnel into an opening on the ring. The liquid would then pass through the animal’s mouth into a bowl.
