This three burner stove was the work center of a first century kitchen. Implements for stirring and spices rested close at hand in indentations behind the “burners.” The fire was stoked and fed through the front opening. This stove is an exact duplicate of one found at Masada. Like all the other working stoves found there, it was a fixed installation built on the ground against a wall.
