Jasper seal and wax impression. The inscription reads lqosa, belonging to Qosa. Qos, a component of this name, was an Edomite deity. In the late seventh to early sixth centuries B.C., Aroer was a prosperous community, trading actively with settlements in the land of Edom across the Jordan River, so the seal may have come from Edomite territory.
